Friday Confessions

Happy Friday! Our favorite day of the week seems to have gotten here rather quickly, but you won't hear any complaining from us! To round out another week of blogging, let's get to some confessions.

I confess... I don't understand why Girl Scout cookies are called different things in different regions. A caramel delite is a samoa, a shortbread is a trefoil, and a peanut butter patty is a tagalong. Let's get back to the basics and stop overcomplicating things, shall we?

I confess... Facebook decided to up its game last week with options to not only like photos and statuses, but to love, laugh, be surprised, be sad, or be angry at them as well. Oh the possibilities. The jury's still out on how I feel about this.

I confess... I love the idea of donating my hair and have always wanted to do so, but cutting off 8 inches will leave it pretty darn short. I am due for a good trim anyway and can't decide if I want to bite the bullet for a good cause or play it safe. Such first world problems, I realize.

I confess... Parker and I had to board Jenny when we went skiing and missed that brown dog something fierce! Walking into your house without a waggy tail to greet you is just not right.

I confess... Our neck of the woods is forecasted for snow and rain this weekend, and all this little family wants to do is be outside in the sun! A family fun run sounds so nice right about now! Since we are all wimps and won't run in the cold, that dream will have to wait. While we wait, here's a throwback... three happy (and tired) souls after a long summer run!

It's the first weekend in March! Yall make it a good one! And please, if you live somewhere warm, go outside and enjoy the sunshine for us.

Friday Confessions

Well hey there Friday! The weeks are flying by lately, and the jury is still out on how I feel about that one. Nevertheless, it's always a happy day when Friday comes out of hiding and shows its sweet self. Here's what's been going on in my head this week...

I confess... Parker and I each bought the other one assorted chocolates for Valentine's Day. Cliche, yes, but we do it every year. Unfortunately for him, I usually end up eating both boxes by myself. And that is precisely what happened this year. #sorrynotsorry

I confess... I also almost single handedly ate my entire birthday cake. The gym might be calling.

I confess... One of these days I am going to have to learn all of our neighbors names. I know most of them, but for the ones I can't remember, I use their dogs. Referring to people as "Rex's human" and "The lady with the lab who always has a water bottle in his mouth" may not cut it much longer.

I confess... Parker loves video games. He's a boy, and apparently this is what they do. He always wants me to play with him, so I told him I would be delighted to play Mario Party together. We finished the N64 game, and he looked over at me and said "That was the worst game ever". Beggars can't be choosers, hubs.

I confess... The sun came out, which was maybe the highlight of Jenny's week. We had snow and rain for about 4 days straight, so her daily walk was cancelled. She was less than impressed with the sudden elimination of her favorite activity.

That's all for now! Yall have a great weekend!

Friday Confessions

It's Friday! Everyone's favorite day has come again, despite how far away it felt Monday morning when the alarm went off. Ahh, Friday. You know the drill. Time for some good old fashioned confessing!

I confess... I like to binge watch shows on Netflix. It's nice to be able to watch an episode whenever I want if I find myself with a free hour. However, finishing a series is always so sad because you are just so invested by the time it's over! I just finished Gossip Girl, and I am already having Blair Waldorf fashion withdrawals.

I confess... I watch every one of those silly cooking videos on Facebook to completion. You know the ones where they show you how to make something from start to finish in about 20 seconds? I will probably never actually make what I see, but if the video pops up on my feed, I always always watch.

I confess... A lot of my close friends are going through deployments right now, and my heart just breaks seeing them so sad. I have heard the beginning is the worst when you are trying to find your routine, and that's where a lot of them are. This is just the stage of life we are in, and our turn isn't far off.

I confess... Pho (pronounced fuh, apparently) is our recent cold weather obsession. I didn't think I liked it, but I have turned a corner and now cannot get enough!

I confess... Martha Stewart came out with a collection at Petsmart. Yall, obsessed is an understatement. Everything is so darn cute! Grab your furry friend and gooooo!

How stinkin cute is that collar? Alright yall, it's the weekend! Go make it a good one!

Friday Confessions

TGIF! I know Friday comes around weekly, but it really will never get old. We have a full weekend in front of us, so let's keep it nice and simple on the blog today. Time for some good, old-fashioned Friday confessing!

I confess... Other than Jen, Jenny's most used nickname is "Brown Dog". When people ask her breed, we say "brown", because that's about the extent of what we know about her breed. She is a rescue and probably has a slew of different breeds in her, but to us, she is our adorable brown dog.

I confess... I've always had a love for Taco Bell. My aunt told me that by the time I graduated from college, I would call it "Taco Hell" because I would be so darn sick of it. Now that I am almost 27 years old, I can safely say that the whole "Taco Hell" phase never caught on. If I wouldn't gain 300 pounds, I'd eat Taco Bell every day and be very happy about it!

I confess... My husband, like 99% of the male population, is obsessed with Star Wars. It's not really my thing, but I do think those movies have the coolest intro ever. The iconic music coupled with the slanted, scrolling text is just plain cool.

I confess... I complained 6 ways to Sunday about last year's winter, but now I find myself sort of missing the snow in this unseasonably warm winter we are having. The grass is always greener.

I confess... We are almost a month past Christmas, and this meme still has me nodding my head. The older I get, the longer it takes to bounce back from that glorious holiday eating. Give me all the Christmas cookies!

Happy weekend, friends!

Friday Confessions

Friday funday! It's been a few weeks since I did a "Friday Confessions" post, so let's change that today.

I confess... I knew Parker was going to be gone this past weekend in advance, so I planned a Target trip to keep me busy Saturday. Let's be honest, I looked forward to that Target trip all week. No shame. Target just gets me.

I confess... On said Target trip, a fellow shopper said "Oh shoot, I should have grabbed a cart" while eyeing all of the fabulous potential buys. I leaned over and said "Target problems".

I confess... Christmas music is constantly on replay in our home, but when Michael Buble's rendition of "Santa Buddy" came on the other day, Parker and I looked at each other like, "Wait, what??". "Santa Baby" is a classic, but the male version was quite odd.

I confess... Parker and I finally saw MockingJay Part 2 last week, and it did not disappoint in my book! So sad The Hunger Games series is officially over!

I confess... This meme caught my attention. Because really, isn't it so true?

Happy Friday friends! Have a great weekend!
