Apple Spice Cobbler

I wanted to make a dessert we could munch on all week but really wasn't feeling a lot of effort. It's really always that way, isn't it? I had a can of apple pie filling laying around and didn't know what to do with it, but after finding this recipe, I decided it looked too good not to try. It did not disappoint! A bowl of this cobbler, a warm blanket, and some good reality TV made me one happy girl!

Ingredients:
1 box spice cake mix, divided
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, cold and chopped into small pieces
2 (21 oz) cans apple pie filling
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
vanilla ice cream (optional)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Mix 2 cups of spice cake mix with your water until smooth. Set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and the rest of your cake mix. Add in your butter and combine with a fork until crumbly. Stir in pecans if you're using them.
4. Spoon pie filling into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spoon spice cake/water batter on top of pie filling and sprinkle your brown sugar mixture on top.
5. Bake about 30 minutes and serve warm with ice cream.

Enjoy!

This sounds incredible! I have been wanting to try an apple cobble recipe for awhile, but haven't because just about every single cobbler recipe has oatmeal as an ingredient...and I hate oatmeal (and anything that is oatmeal consistent) ...the smell...the texture...everything...lol. So, I'm excited to try this one.

Another very simple apple recipe is these apple dumplings that i make. They are SO easy, they make your home smell heavenly and I promise, once you make these, people will forever beg you to recreate these again and again.

All you need is:
1 Granny Smith apple (8 slices)
2. 1 stick of butter
3. 1 c white sugar & 1/2c brown sugar
4. 8 ct. Crescent rolls.

- All you do is roll a slice of apple into each crescent roll (kind of like pigs in a blanket) and then lay them in a baking dish
- then melt 1/2 water-stick of butter- and white sugar in a sauce pan...and then pour this mixture over your rolls
- then sprinkle brown sugar between rolls and on top
And then if you want you can also sprinkle them with cinnamon on top.
These bake for about 25 mins on 350 uncovered.

I am a sweet tooth connesiour and these are one of the top five best things I have ever made.

I know you like sweets just like I do, so I wanted to share : )

Oh I can't remember if you followed my last blog, but I recently changed over to Wordpress, so my new blog is heybelly.com
