3 Years Already? Happy Birthday, Little Blog!

Well, thanks to that fancy little app called Timehop, I was reminded that Anchors Aweigh turned 3 this month! Life has been so nuts lately that it totally slipped my mind that December marks 3 years since this little blog came to be.

It's pretty crazy to think I have been typing away on this blog for 3 whole years. That's quite a lot of posts and hours spent at the keyboard. It's still such a fun hobby for me that has allowed me to "meet" so many awesome people!

I always like to put in a screen shot of what the blog looks like today since I change it every 6-9 months, so here's what Anchors Aweigh looks like 3 years in for the future, nostalgic me reading this post.

Let's see, here's a bullet list of what year 3 looked like...

  • On grief and loss... This year, I wrote a lot about losing our little one and the journey that has been. It's been simultaneously comforting, inspiring, and heartbreaking to receive messages and emails from so many who have gone on a similar journey. I still hope and pray that our faith and God's providence in Taylor's short life can be used for His glory.
  • #Sponsored... This year, I started writing a few sponsored posts. I write 2-3 per month on average (33 total this year, to be exact) on various products. I know these aren't the most fun to read, but they help my family a little financially and have been a great opportunity for an added income. I try to make them personal and fun to read, but I really appreciate you all sticking around through those. :)
  • You read what?... Book reviews were new this year! My inner bookworm has taken over, and I'll basically read anything I can get my hands on! So many of the books I've read have been because of your suggestions, so thanks a million!
I always like to write down my favorite posts from the year too, so here are a few I really enjoyed writing. In no particular order...

All of the people who read this blog are what make it fun. I honestly don't know what I have to say or write that hasn't already been said by someone somewhere, but thank you for reading, caring, and encouraging me. I appreciate you all!

That's a wrap on year 3!

Congrats on 3 years! That is a big deal!
I have loved following your journey and reading tidbits of your thoughts on this blog!
I've been blogging for a little while now, and I'm interested in making a little side money. Can you email me at thegloriousmundane@gmail.com with some tips and pointers on how to do sponsored posts/make a little income from blogging?

Thanks so much!

I am so glad you write! You are one of my favorite bloggers to keep up with. I really like your idea of keeping a picture of your blog layout. I would be so embarrassed now with my first template. And you do a great job making the sponsored post more than the product!)
