Final Review and a Weekend Home

It's funny how the word "home" has multiple meanings when you grow up. This is obviously true for military couples since home is where the Navy sends us, but I think this would be true even if Parker weren't in the Navy. His parents' house in Plano is home, my parents' house in The Woodlands is home, my grandparents house in Midlothian is home, and Texas A&M University is home. Okay, that was kind of a mouthful! You know what I mean though?

Parker and I are both Aggie alum, and he was in the Corps of Cadets there. This weekend was final review, a neat ceremony where the freshmen become sophomores, the sophomores become juniors, the juniors become seniors, and the seniors "die". I promise it's not as morbid as it sounds. It just means their four years in the Corps is up. It's one of the many Corps terms I learned over the years! Anyway, the seniors in the Corps all wear boots that they have worked three years to earn. Parker's class came back to pull the boots for the class that just earned their boots this weekend at Final Review. I know it may seem like Texas A&M is a cult and super strange, but this is one of our many traditions and I love it! Parker's class all got together this weekend for a little reunion and to pull some boots. We both got to see our sisters, and being reunited with Texas friends was perfection.

Parker pulling boots!

A few of Parker's buddies reunited in Aggieland

Officially living in the same city as this girl again! Yay Kingsville!

Phelps kiddos!

Sister time in College Station (missing Faithie!). We all look so much alike that it's hard to tell which is my twin and which is four years younger than me ;)

And of course, a picture with my best girlfriend. She was not impressed.

We got to spend time in Aggieland with friends and in The Woodlands with my family. Despite the utter exhaustion from driving about 17 hours this weekend, we had a blast! Now please excuse me while I go unpack the 10000000 boxes piled up throughout my house. Happy Wednesday!
